Tackling Language with
Kadoorie Foundation
This program aims to foster social inclusion and improve second language skills among ethnic minority and underprivileged local students in the Yuen Long and Kwai Tsing Districts. By engaging students through rugby, the program promotes understanding and acceptance among diverse backgrounds while enhancing their language proficiency. Activities include demonstration rugby sessions that incorporate play-based learning, in-school training to develop teamwork and leadership skills, and joint training sessions to facilitate interactions among students from different backgrounds. Additionally, we emphasize parental engagement to support children's development, creating a holistic approach to language learning and social inclusion. The program also provides job training opportunities for non-Chinese speaking youth, paving the way for their future employment in the sports industry. Overall, this initiative not only builds language skills but also strengthens community bonds, fostering a more inclusive environment for all participants.
