Social Inclusion Through Sport for the
Deaf Community in Hong Kong

Social Inclusion Through Sport for the Deaf Community in Hong Kong uses rugby to provide access to active bridging opportunities that help the deaf community tackle discrimination and isolation from their surroundings, enhancing their self-esteem and self-confidence in an environment that also promotes social inclusion within the wider community.

We partner with Hong Kong Society of the Deaf (HKSD) and Lutheran School for the Deaf throughout the year. We will have Family Engagement Day for HKSD to provide a platform to the parents to increase the bond not just with their kid but the deaf community. We also provide summer/easter courses, regular training for HKSD students, during those course students from HKSD could enjoy a fun, safe and knowledgeable rugby environment.

Lutheran School For The Deaf will have 10 sessions of school training the session including embracing diversity, creating harmony, open-mindedness and understanding conflict – all areas aiming to support deaf children to integrate into the wider community, additionally we will have 4 sessions of join training with the mainstream school to give a chance to the deaf student to build bond with the mainstream school student.
