BACKGROUND

Bridging Communities Through Sport

The Jockey Club Rugby United Project is an initiative designed to promote social cohesion among Hong Kong youth through the sport of rugby. This program harnesses the universal values embedded in sports—teamwork, respect, and determination—to bridge the gaps among youth from diverse academic and socioeconomic backgrounds. By providing a welcoming and inclusive environment, the program aims to foster essential soft skills that support personal development and community engagement.

What We Set Out To Do

Promote Social Integration

Create a platform where youth from different backgrounds can come together, interact, and build meaningful relationships through sport.

Enhance Life Skills for Inclusion 

Equip participants with essential skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, and problem-solving that help them thrive both on and off the field.

Foster Personal Development and Empowerment 

Provide opportunities for youth to set goals, overcome challenges, and build self-confidence, developing resilience that lasts beyond the programme.
