Role Purpose
Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of RFG’s Social Emotional Learning Capacity Building Course and Coach Training & Management System. Act as the technical expert on curriculum development, adult learning, and certification pathways. Support other Capacity Building initiatives (university sport for development course, youth employability programme) as needed.
Key Accountabilities
1. Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Capacity Building Course (Teacher & Practitioner Training)
Design, develop, and deliver a structured SEL course for educators, school social workers, NGO staff, and youth practitioners.
Translate RFG’s play-based rugby SEL methodology into teacher-friendly modules, lesson plans, and facilitation guides.
Align the course with local education frameworks (e.g., Education Bureau guidelines, school wellbeing policies).
Develop assessment tools and a certification pathway.
2. Coach Training & Management System
Design, develop, and continuously improve RFG’s central coach training curriculum, aligned with SEL frameworks and rugby technical standards.
Develop tiered certification pathways and competency frameworks for coaches across all three delivery pillars.
Deliver regular training cohorts for new and existing coaches; provide technical support and refresher training based on field feedback across the organisation.
3. Curriculum & Resource Management
Own the central repository of all training materials, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and assessment tools.
Ensure materials are version-controlled, accessible, and culturally appropriate for Hong Kong; translate or adapt into appropriate language as needed.
4. Support for Other Capacity Building Initiatives
Contribute to the university-partnered Sport for Development (SFD) course by developing or adapting training modules from the Teacher SEL and Coach Training systems; assist with guest lectures or practical sessions as required.
Provide input on skills-based learning modules (e.g., communication, teamwork, leadership) for the Youth Employability Programme.
5. MEL for Training Programmes
Lead MEL data collection for the Teacher SEL course and Coach Training programmes: pre/post competency assessments, participant feedback, long-term follow-ups.
Track teacher and coach certification progression, retention, and competency improvement.
Produce quarterly training reports for the Programme Manager, using data insights to iteratively improve content and delivery.
6. Team Collaboration & Mentorship
Work closely with the Assistant Programme Manager to align training content with field realities (coach feedback, youth programme needs).
Mentor and coach Programme Officers on training delivery and curriculum design as needed.
Support the Programme Manager in identifying emerging training needs across RFG.

Facilitation & Public Speaking: Delivers engaging, clear training sessions in both English and Cantonese to groups of 10+ participants.
Cross-Initiative Collaboration: Works seamlessly across university, employability, and training workstreams.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Education, Sports Coaching, Training & Development, Youth Development, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in teacher training, coach training, curriculum development, or adult education.
2+ years supervising or mentoring junior staff.
Proven experience delivering training workshops or sessions to groups of 20+ participants.
Fluent English and Cantonese (written and spoken; ability to deliver training in both languages essential).
Formal training qualification (e.g., Train the Trainer, Instructional Design) is highly desirable.
Experience working with schools or sports organisations in Hong Kong is a strong asset.
