Social Inclusion Through Sport for the Deaf Community in Hong Kong
The Social Inclusion Through Sport for the Deaf Community in Hong Kong program uses rugby to create bridging opportunities that help the deaf community overcome discrimination and isolation, boosting their self-esteem and self-confidence. The program promotes social inclusion, providing an environment where deaf individuals feel valued and connected to the wider community.
In partnership with the Hong Kong Society of the Deaf (HKSD) and Lutheran School for the Deaf, we offer impactful programs throughout the year. The Family Engagement Day at HKSD provides a platform for parents to strengthen their bonds with both their children and the deaf community. We also offer summer and Easter courses, along with regular training sessions for HKSD students, providing a fun, safe, and enriching rugby environment.
For Lutheran School for the Deaf, we organize 10 training sessions focused on embracing diversity, fostering harmony, cultivating open-mindedness, and understanding conflict—critical areas to support the integration of deaf children into the wider community. Additionally, we conduct 4 joint training sessions with mainstream schools, giving deaf students the opportunity to connect with their hearing peers.
